POSITION SUMMARY Located in North America’s wind belt, Davenport is at the forefront of renewable energy technology and has remained home to one of our largest manufacturing facilities since 1927.
Originally producing cereal, the factory became a pet food-only manufacturer in the late ‘90s and as the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the U.
S.
, it carefully produces, packages, and ships several varieties of our Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Purina ONE®, Cat Chow®, Friskies®, and Kit N Kaboodle® brands.
As the Staff Engineer (Project Engineer), you will manage 10-20 projects each year to: generate cost estimates, manage the project costs to within budget, control the project schedule and cash flow, adhere to sanitary and construction standards, and maintain job safety.
The Staff Engineer must provide prompt response to engineering requests and maintain close working relationships with Production, Maintenance, Accounting, Human Resources, Quality Assurance and Safety Departments.
Facilitate project scope development.
Development of design/solutions in accordance with engineering, safety, production, sanitary, and accounting procedures and specifications.
Compliance to OSHA, FDA-GMP’s, local and national life and fire safety codes.
Preparation of estimates and schedules.
Issuance of all documents and drawings for construction on assigned projects/studies.
Evaluate bids, award contracts, and issue purchase orders.
Provide engineering consulting service to Business Teams.
Supervision of contractors.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline 2+ years’ engineering experience in a manufacturing, industrial, technical, military or related environment The approximate pay range for this position is $73,000 to $98,000.
Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
