Position Summary
Assist the Activities Director in the development, organization, coordination, and implementation of comprehensive therapeutic recreation services and programs that meet the needs and interests of each resident.
Job Description
A.
RECREATION SERVICES
Duties: Facilitate group programs as assigned in a timely and efficient manner.
Complete required documentation.
Contribute to resident care planning preparation.
Provide individual programming as assigned.
Maintain activity department supplies and equipment.
Assist with planning and leadership of special events.
Invite, encourage and assist residents participation in activity functions.
Document attendance and refusals.
B.
VOLUNTEER COORDINATION
Duties: Evaluate the need for volunteer services within the facility.
Recruit, interview, select, and place volunteers to meet the residents’ needs.
Develop and supervise volunteer orientation and training to ensure positive relations.
C.
SAFETY
Duties: Comply with support the center’s policies related to all safety and infection control procedures including the proper use of mechanical lifts, gait belts and personal protective equipment.

Qualifications
· High School graduate or equivalent.
· Previous experience in a social or recreational program coordination preferred.
· Must hold or acquire required state licenses and/or certificates.
· Must have ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary at accomplishing the job.
· Basic understanding of computer technology, including email use.
· Must maintain regular attendance.
· Must meet all local health regulations and pass post-employment physical exam if required.
This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry.
